Monsoon

A solo exhibition By Danielle West.

Danielle is always happy, but particularly when painting and creating. It is often dark outside and the children are peacefully asleep when you will find Danielle with her favourite apron and much loved brush in her hand. Surrounded by her colours, tools and selection of accumulated treasures, she gets to work on sorting out her thoughts and wares until time has peacefully disappeared leaving in its place the beginnings or endings of something new and exciting.

"Much of my painting for this exhibition  has been done in the last few months.   There are days when i love painting      outdoors because the quick drying times allow me to build layers quickly. Painting under full sun is uplifting, energetic and very different to being in a studio. Other times it has been windy or wet outside, which encourages me to paint inside. It is more peaceful indoors and my pace slows and becomes more detailed. Although my need to paint is constant rather than seasonal i use the temperature to my advantage and have entitled this exhibition 'Monsoon' I hope to leave my viewers feeling a monsoonal excitement and warmth in the latest down pour of my works."
